A picture of a thosand words

Hi all, hope you had a great weekend. Some of my fondest memories is from living in California and meeting some amazing people.

These pictures hold so many memories of a night well spend. Driving over the Golden Gate Bridge in a limo, having a great dinner in San Francisco and spending it with good company. It was like a farewell before we returning to our home countries, namely South Africa, Germany, Sweden and Brazil.

This picture was taken in the Golden Gate Park with The Palace of the Fine Arts behind us. FYI, my dress only cost $6. Have a great week.

Till we meet again, San Francisco.

This weekend was was my last weekend in the USA, so in a few days I will be back in South Africa. Even though I'm super excited to go home I felt really sad when I spend the day in San Francisco, because I don't  know when I will return here and I really love the city. It was raining a little bit but I still enjoyed it for old time sake. I spend some time at Pier 39, the had a Sushi lunch with a friend in Chinatown. And of course some shopping too.

Passing Time

Hope you all had a great weekend, mine was spend mostly sightseeinging San Francisco seeing that I hardly have time left. Time just seems to pass by so fast and I can't believe I only has six more weekends left in the USA before I return to South Africa. Here are some of the picture from the weekend.

From San Francisco with love...

As I'm currently working on a scrapbook, I can't help but get emotional when I look at some of the pictures, especially the ones of San Francisco. I love the city, people, landscape, culture and the fun things to do here. I spend so much time  exploring, shopping and just enjoying what the city has to offer. There is something of everything from all the the great shopping hotpots to some of the best museums and restaurants.

As the time is drawing nearer for me to leave, I know I will miss spending time in the city. It holds a special place in my heart and I know I will definitely come back.

4 days and 3 States later...

A few days ago I went on a four day bus trip travelling through California, Nevada and Arizona with two other girls. We had stops at Yosemite National Park, Las Vegas, Grand Canyon and the Hoover Dam. I think out of the whole trip the one place I was most excited about visiting, was  Las Vegas.
Of course it's the city that never sleeps. We spend two days there, at the Excalibur hotel on the  Las Vegas strip. The city is like no other, I had no  sleep at all for the two days.
There was so much to see, from an Eifel Tower, a Statue of Liberty, a little piece of Venice, the Fountains at the Ballegio and so much more. The city comes to life at night, the lights, the people, all famous hotels, all the attractions and shows. It was a great trip, thanx guys!!!

Stars and Stripes

I can't believe that we are half way through the year already, time is flying by so fast. I'm so thankful , I had a great 2011 so far and excited for the rest of the year. I'm looking forward to the weekend and it's 4th of July weekend as well which means an extra day off.

I must say that Americans really put a lot into holidays, walking around in the stores you know what holiday it is, you cant miss the stars, stripes, red, white and blue everywhere. From ideas for the barbecue, party decor to what what to wear and of course 4th of July sales everywhere. Since it's my second year to celebrate 4th of July I'm hoping to see some sort of 4th of July parade and see more fireworks. Have a great weekend!!!

California Dream

I don't know why but for the past few weeks I have been really homesick, the funny thing is I was really surprised that I managed to stay here in California for more than a year already without wanting to go home. I think maybe it's  because I will be back in South Africa in soon so I'm missing my family more.

I know being able to live in California of all place was the last thing I has ever thought I would be able to, so I decided to think of all the things that I love about being in California and that I will miss.

All the wonderful friends are made here from France, Brazil, Sweden, Argentina , Germany, Denmark, Norway and of course USA and South Africa( I hope I didn't leave out anybody). I hope I will be able to visit them all. The stores I come to love, the places I visited,  San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge, yummy chocolates and Starbucks!!!

Santa Cruz

The past weekend I was fortunate enough to spend the two days in Santa Cruz, about one and half hours drive from Oakland. It's a beach town on the coast of Northern California.

Its was a nice place to visit, I could see it was all about having fun in the sun. The people seemed so laid back, playing volley ball on the beach, surfing, some trying to catch some fish and of course catching a tan. The boardwalk was just a nice place to walk around, with little shops where you could find just about anything you needed for the beach and we were lucky enough to be

staying in walking distance from the boardwalk.
The Sunday I tried my luck at kayaking, seeing that it was my first time I was a bit nervous. Thinking what if the kayak tip over, well it didn't and it was nice to be out at see. The highlight of kayaking was seeing a whale so close to us. Even though it was amazing, I was so scared thinking what if it comes too close and I fall out the kayak. The weekend was great, hanging out on the beach and the weather was just perfect. Thanks girls!!
